Access and Run a Registry Editor

On occasion, you may need to make changes to ClearSCADA's settings directly in the registry in Windows®. The settings are stored in a small section of the registry, clearly marked as 'ClearSCADA'. Many of ClearSCADA's server settings are configurable using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool. For other ClearSCADA settings, you may have to use a Registry Editor, such as Regedit. This topic provides guidelines on how to access Regedit. The means by which you access the Registry Editor varies, depending on the operating system. For operating systems not mentioned in this topic, please refer to your Windows documentation.

NOTICE

INOPERABLE DEVICE

Take care when using a Registry Editor to change ClearSCADA's registry settings. Check whether the settings are configurable using a ClearSCADA application, such as the Server Configuration Tool, and if so, use that tool rather than a Registry Editor. Do not alter other ClearSCADA registry settings without expert advice from Schneider Electric.
Failure to follow these instructions could critically affect system or computer operation. Restoration of the previous registry settings may be required.
